Victoria- Elbert Sanders, 92, of Victoria, went to be with his Lord on Monday, June 12, 2017. He was born on August 17, 1924 in Port Lavaca, Texas to the late Tracy and Lula Mae Sanders.
Elbert had many occupations he excelled at through the years and owned and operated several businesses including the Whitecap Restaurant in Port Lavaca, Texas. His final career was in oilfield equipment parts and repairs and he retired from Gregory Gauges at the age of 82. He enjoyed country drives, country music, spending time with his family and enjoyed staying busy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Frances Sanders of Victoria; his sons, Larry Sanders of Victoria and Richard Sanders of Houston; his daughter, Amy (David) Schulte of Victoria; grandchildren, Anton (Miranda) Reeves of Victoria and Annie Reeves of San Antonio; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Aaron; sisters, Ima Roberts of Port Lavaca and Merle Parenica of Placedo; brother, Norman Sanders of Port Lavaca.
Elbert was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Earlene Neyland and Jewel Mickle.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Grace Community Bible Church, 201 Glascow St., Victoria, Texas 77904, from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. William Pass officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Anton Reeves, Butch Gregory, Nick Williams, John Ray Harper, Terry Dibrell and Noble Malik, Jr.
