Lena G. Pecha

Victoria – It is with great sadness that the family of Lena G. Soto Pecha announce her passing on Friday, August 18, 2017, at the age 76.

Lena will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Sidney E. Pecha and her children, Rose Garza of Victoria, Norma Soto (Bill) of College Station, Ray Soto of Victoria, Joey Soto of Corpus Christi, Julie Tirado of Bryan, Lupe De Leon (Allan) of Pflugerville, and Valerie Soto (Tara) of Hutto. She will also be fondly and lovingly remembered by her step daughter Donna Plummer (Tommy), her 17 grandchildren, 27 great grand children, by her sisters Elizabeth Rodriguez (Robert), Maryann Miranda (Dr. Miranda), Terry Flores (George), and by her brothers Andrew Gonzalez, Jr. (Vera), Roberto Gonzalez (Patricia), Ruben Gonzalez (Celia), and Fernando Gonzalez (Rose). Lena will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Lena was born on August 30, 1940 in Mumphord, Texas to the late Andrew H. Gonzalez, Sr. and Elvira R. Gonzalez of Victoria. She was employed at Twin Pines Nursing Home for 30 years before retiring from VISD transportation.

She belonged to the Our Lady of Sorrows Rosary group, the Monica Spence Rosary Group, Divine Mercy Cenacle of St. Mary's Chapel, and the Red Hat Society Crimson Beauties Chapter.

Visitation will be held at Grace Funeral Home on Thursday, August 24 from 5-7, followed by a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows on Friday, August 25 at 1:00 p.m.

Pallbearers are Jose Soto, Jr., Michelangelo De Leon, Emmanuel De Leon, Marcos Garza, Jr., SFC Alex Garza, and Nicholas Torres. Honorary Pallbearers are MA2 Don Trinidad De Leon and Martin Soto.

Lena lived a hard but beautiful life. She was vivacious, funny, playful, creative and loving. She raised seven children with limited assistance. Her house was filled with a sense of togetherness and close bonds. She knitted, sewed, and crafted many gifts to loved ones. Her life was documented through many pictures, videos, cards and letters; each showing a happy and loved mother, sister, wife, grandmother and daughter.

Her adorable and infectious smile, big dimples and piercing loving eyes will be missed by all who knew her. Her welcoming arms and spirit will now be awaiting us all in Heaven. We love you, sweet dear loving lady.

Condolences and memories can be shared at Services are under the direction and personal care of Grace Funeral Home.
