Obituary for John Bedford "Bubba" Duke Jr.
JOHN BEDFORD “BUBBA” DUKE JR.
Born to John and Wanda Duke on June 15, 1960 in Wharton, Texas he passed away December 24, 2017 doing what he loved doing best… hunting the great 12 point buck on The Duke Ranch.
Bubba started his career in the oilfield, many jobs in-between and ended in the oilfield with Spartan Energy Partners. Bubba enjoyed his work and coworkers and considered them family.
He is already missed deeply by those who knew him, as he never met a stranger.
He leaves behind his greatest achievement his children Candace, Courtney, Hunter and Fisher Duke, the love of his life, wife Janell Duke.
His parents John and Wanda, raised Bubba with integrity, to be a devoted father and husband, to walk with his head held high. To work and play hard, and to be honest, as well as living his life for God. Bubba was all these things and more. He worked hard and played harder, loved the outdoors and everyone he met.
He also leaves behind his sister Dawn Williamson, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In Bubba’s words “Leave no doubt what you’re about.”
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, December 29, 2017 at Faith Family Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family or donor’s choice.
