Stella Chavez Valadez age 76 was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Stella was born November 25, 1941 in Victoria, TX to the late Ligardo "Lee" and Stella Chavez. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, great Grandmother, great-great Grandmother and sister. She will truly be missed by her family and friends. Stella was a Nazareth Academy graduate in 1959 where she was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corps. She was crowned Queen of the Diez y Seis de Septiembre celebration in 1957. She was retired from Walmart in Webster, TX after 20 years of excellent service, and was a Catholic and member of Our Lady of Sorrows. Stella loved music and dancing. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Stella is survived by her sons, Henry Valadez and wife Cindy of Friendswood, Pete Valadez and wife Stella of San Antonio. Daughters Liz Ramos of Orlando, FL, Becky Hanselka-Mincey of Alvin and Suzanne Montez of Alvin. Her sisters Gloria Trevino, Rose Rivera and Norma Sue Gonzales all from Victoria. She also survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Stella went peacefully away to Heaven and to her beloved parents Ligardo "Lee" and Stella Chavez , and beloved brothers Joe Richard Chavez and Ligardo (Junior) Chavez Jr.

Pallbearers: Henry Valadez, Pete Valadez IV, Sal Ramos III, Pete Valadez V, Christopher Hanselka, Jesse Montez, and Nick Dunlop.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Grace Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
