Obituary for Faustino "Bosco" Garcia Jr.
Faustino “Bosco” Garcia, Jr., age 71, passed away on March 9, 2018, at the Cottages at Chandler Creek Assisted Living Facility in Round Rock, Texas, after his long struggle with vascular dementia.
Bosco was born on February 6, 1947, in Goliad, Texas, where he grew up with his mother and five siblings and where he met and married his loving and devoted wife of 52 years Evangelina “Eva” Garcia, on August 13, 1965. In October of 1968 he left the U.S. to serve his country in Vietnam as a Marine MP and decorated soldier; returning home to greet his first born daughter, Minnie Lynn Garcia and then settling in Houston, Texas, where Bosco and Eva had their second daughter, Christina Ann Garcia. Bosco lived and worked in Houston, making friends, and returning to Goliad often to spend time with family; leaving a lasting impression on all who met him before retiring from the City of Houston Hobby Airport System in 2009. Bosco was a loving husband, father, and uncle, fun-loving and faithful friend, and we will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Faustino Garcia; mother, Maria Gomez Garcia; daughter, Minnie Lynn Garcia; brothers, Erasmo Garcia and Ignacio “Nacho” Garcia; and sisters, Aurelia “Winnie” Garcia and Maria “Mary” Holcomb.
He is survived by his love of his life, wife Eva; daughter, Christina (Scott Talbott); sister, Juanita Calderon (Damian); and loving nieces and nephews.
