Obituary for Naydine Zeplin
Victoria – Naydine Zeplin; wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend was called by our Heavenly Father on March 10, 2018. She was born in Goliad County, September 27, 1923, the youngest of three children to Berthold and Alma Kenne.
She married Edward Zeplin in 1944. They had three children and spent 65 wonderful years together until Edward’s passing in 2009.
Naydine was a stay-at-home mother and talented artisan who found time to sew, quilt, paint, garden and crochet. In later years she found joy in making and sending greeting cards to all those she loved and cared for. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, and no one ever left her home without an offer of something baked or a shared meal.
Naydine was a life-long Christian and member of First English Lutheran Church all of her adult life. She loved teaching Sunday school for 29 years and was an active member of the Ruth Circle and Andrew Club. She taught her children spiritual and moral values that she modeled everyday of her life.
Left to cherish her memory are; her son, Dr. Gary W. Zeplin and wife June, daughter Mrs. Lorna Dusek and husband Donald, daughter Mrs. Jan Oldfather and husband Jim. She has 5 grandchildren; Mr. Scott Zeplin, Mrs. Kimberly Billeaud and husband Jeremy, Miss Janna Dusek, Mr. Jared Oldfather and Miss Janelle Oldfather; two great grandchildren Mr. Cody Billeaud and Miss Emma Billeaud as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Naydine was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Kenne and wife Marie and one sister, Ruby Lee Pfenninger and husband Urban.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to First English Lutheran Church Sunday School, 516 N. Main Street, Victoria, TX 77901.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Grace Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at First English Lutheran Church. Private burial to follow.
