Lawrence Henry ""Larry"" Christ
Lawrence Henry Christ Jr., 65, was born October 24,1952 in Hallettsville, TX and went to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 28, 2018 in Victoria, TX. Larry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be truly missed by those he left behind. The Bible speaks of men of God in 1 Timothy 6:11 and tells them “flee from all of this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.” Larry was the definition of a man of God and set the example for his family and friends of how to live a life pleasing to God.
Through Larry’s life he contributed his service to his country and his community. Larry was a veteran of the United States Navy on the USS Racine LST 1191 in the Vietnam War and served his country with pride and honor. Larry was also a member of the American Legion District 9 Post 166 Victoria, Crossroads Cruisers Car Club, and Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree.
He is preceded in death, by his parent’s mother Eunice Ann Stary; father, Lawrence Christ Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Maggie Christ; son, Luke Christ (Rebecca); grandchild, Chloe Christ; step-sons, Sonny Roe and David Archer; brother LeeRoy Christ.
The book will be available to sign from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm on Wednesday, April 2nd at Grace Funeral Home (214 N. Market St. Goliad). The family will receive family and friends at Immaculate Conception Church in Goliad on Thursday, May 3rd starting at 9:45 am, Rosary will follow at 10:45 am and Funeral services beginning at 11:00 am with military honors from American Legion Posts #166 and #193. The family invites all family and friends to join them for lunch following funeral services at the Catholic Church Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Mr. Christ would like donations in his name to be made to American Legion Post #166 1402 E. Santa Rosa Victoria, TX 77901, Crossroads Cruisers Car Club 315 Northampton Circle Victoria, TX 77901, and Knights of Columbus 238 N. Commercial St. Goliad, TX 77963.
