WILLIE MAE FRYER MCNARY - Our beloved Willie Mae McNary, 81, wife of George Louis McNary, Sr., of Victoria, Texas, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at her home. The fourth of seven children, she was born to the late Will Allen and Johneulia Battles Fryer on August 9, 1936 in Cheapside, Texas, Gonzales County.

She enjoyed the outdoors and fishing with her family while growing up. She moved to Victoria, Texas after marrying her ‘Sweetcake’ and became a faithful member of Mount Nebo Baptist Church, rendering her service in the Choir and Women’s Missionary Society, both local and state levels.

She delighted in giving her life testimony of her faith in God enabling her to survive Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, Breast Cancer and Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia. Willie Mae’s favorite hymn, Amazing Grace, gave her much comfort and strength to endure the journey.

She was blessed to retire from both DeTar Hospital and Fordyce Company in Victoria, Texas. She was a dedicated member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Auxiliary, Post 4146; the Queen of Sheba Grand Chapter - Queen Esther Chapter, No. 188, Order of the Eastern Star; and recently served as Chaplain for the Lockhart Cemetery Association.

Some of her favorite pastimes were floral design, crochet, sewing, catering barbeque alongside her husband, and sharing her wisdom and words of encouragement with anyone she met along her path.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Everett Fryer; one grandson, Jason Randle.

She leaves behind to cherish her beautiful memory a loving husband of 63 years; Six devoted children: Jacqueline (Milton) Randle of La Marque, Texas; George (Cecilia) McNary, Jr., of Rosenberg, Texas; Althea Cyphers of Pflugerville, Texas; Gregory (Primrose) McNary, Sr., of Victoria, Texas; Ron McNary of Victoria, Texas; and Marilee (Reginore) Anderson of Houston, Texas; Fourteen grandchildren; Thirteen great-grandchildren; Five siblings: Herman (Florence) Fryer and Johnell Price of Cuero, Texas; and Allen Scott, Dorothy Ross, and Nancy (Everett) Brown of Victoria, Texas; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
